Scary Stuff

Drove about 7 miles from home to see the Arcadia Fire, it's pretty close as it is. Here are the first few shots, I have two rolls of film to develop of it too.

Some photos and some musings

When I was in Yuma we looked out the window one morning....and there were hot air balloons! I took something like 20 pictures so rather than post them all here, here is a link to the photobucket slideshow...here.I stopped at Salton Sea Beach and Salton City and took some pics of the sea (and a couple of the windmills) on the drive home too, again, there are 35 shots, so check the slideshow....here.Thats all for photos.

How was everyones holiday? Mine was odd. We went to a party Sat night and I got food poisoning, so I spent Christmas Eve and Christmas basically asleep. I did recall that the last time I had food poisoning was 16 years ago and that was at Christmastime too....something wierd in the universe there.Other than that it was great though.

Chris got me a new phone (Sidekick!!!) and some cool CD's and knick knacky stuff. And she cooked a FABULOUS dinner (not that I got to eat it, I missed tamales on Christmas Eve too!), and Marcus got enough new toys to outfit a small orphanage, as it should be. I hope you all had a great day too!

Work is CRAZY. As most of you know the end of the year (4th quarter) is our busiest time...and boy are we feeling it now. We were cruising pretty good and actually thought that we were going to have a fairly light go of it this year....not so much, I worked 12 hrs today, and I could have stayed longer but I didn't want to get into double pay hours. Just a couple more days though!

Other than that, not much going on. Mom is coming out to visit next weekend, so I am trying to make some plans to do a few fun things....dinner with some friends and whatnot. Chris and I are making plans for a trip to LA in February. I already got my time off and I am working out what route were going to drive and everything. Should be fun, we will be there the week before Mardi Gras and my grandparents live a couple hours from New Orleans so if we want to we can drive in and partake in a little pre-gras festivities. I am looking forward to the time off.....it seems to me that 2006 kinda kicked everyones asses (Mercury in retrograde???) and I could certainly use a break. Plus, it will likely be my only vacation in 2007, I am going to require my entire week of sick time for my surgery (minimum one week at home) and I want to make sure I have the extra vacation days available if for any reason I need to stay out longer. Hmmm....yeah. I think I need to hit the sack...I see another 12 hr day in my future tomorrow. Ta!
